Course Description

Want to learn more about Wildlife and their relationship with plants.

This wildlife horticulture training course is ideal for people working with animals who are wanting to learn more about the application of horticulture and animals. This course will provide information and skills that can be used for both animal and plant applications. This course is offered online over 9 x nights with a 1 x day workshop.

Non-Qualification Course:

This course is not a nationally recognised qualification. It is simply a training course where participants receive a statement of attendance.

  • Plant Identification Part 1 and Part 2
  • How plants work
  • Plant care, maintenance, water and fertilise plants
  • Maintain nursery plants
  • Plant pests, disease and management
  • Toxic plants to animals

  • Establishing and maintain a Plantation
  • Field Excursion to a Plantation and Plant nursery
  • Plant application in the workplace, community and conservation projects

LOCATION:

This is an online course for 9 weeks plus a one-day workshop which will include practical training at a Eucalypt location and a Plant nursery. (Dates to be advised).

Plantation location 1: 9.30am to 12.30pm
Bev Drakes Wyee property at Kiar, NSW (official address TBA)
This property has an established 7,500 eucalypt plantation.

DURATION: 9 Weeks online course, Mondays 6pm – 7pm

COURSE FEE: Single person, $975

PRE-REQUISITES: There are no pre-requisites.

COURSES REQUIREMENTS: Work ready clothing, work boots, long trousers and long sleeve shirt, broad brimmed hat and sunglasses. On enrolment you will be emailed further details regarding course requirement.

Course Commencement and Confirmation: Course fees must be paid before participation. The running of this course is subject to achieving a minimum of 12 participants.

Concessions: There are no concessions available.

Refunds and Cancellations: Cancellations advised in writing more than 7 days prior to the commencement of the course are eligible for a full refund. For cancellations advised within 7 days of the course, no refunds are made, but substitute delegate may attend.

Trainer
Brad Walker is the GWT CEO and the trainer for this course. Brad has over 30 years’ experience working with animals and plants. Brad is an exhibit and landscape designer and is well equipped to teach this short training course. He is keen to assist you with your wildlife horticulture course learning.
